AGLIME
AGLIME
AgLime is ground limestone used principally for the correction of soil acidification. Applied at the correct rate for New Zealand soil conditions, lime is a key contributor to optimum soil health. This in turn has a beneficial effect on profitability.
For optimum growing conditions, soil pH level should be 6.2. When a soil pH level is lower there is greater acidity in the soil which means that plants are unable to absorbed nutrients from the soil. By adding aglime to the soil it will bring up the pH level to neutralise the soil which will correct the pH imbalance to allow for the plants to access available nutrients and encourage soil organism activity and healthy bacteria. Aglime will also help to improve the soil structure, drainage and help aerate soil.
FINE LIME
Fine lime is the finest grade of limestone produced, and its created by capturing the dust off the plant. This means only the finest particles are captured. Fine lime is used as a calcium supplement for animal health and is included in stock food. Due to its fine particle size, it can be used in a slurry mix to be aerial spread over pasture. Its fine particle sizes means the calicum uptake is fast acting.
GARDEN LIME
Garden Lime is essential for soil health. It is a natural source of calcium for strong, health plant growth. The additional of garden lime will improve the soil structure and will help encourage organic matter, which in turn will increase earthworm activity within the soil.
Garden Lime can be used on lawns to encourage growth, and in compost bins to help the process of breaking down waste.
Directions for use in Gardens:
Vege Gardens: prior to planting apply ½ cup per square metre of garden. For vegetable gardens apply 1 ¼ cups per square metre of garden. Mix thoroughly into soil, and water well. Apply ¾ cup per square metre to established gardens, water well after application.
Lawns: apply annually to lawns at a rate of ¼ cup per square metre of lawns. Water well.
Compost Bins: Apply ¼ cup to each layer of compost
